ACADEMICPUB NAMES LIZA MURPHY SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT, SALES AND BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
New York, NY, November 6, 2012 - Liza Murphy, an accomplished publishing professional with global sales and marketing experience in the academic, educational and reference arenas, today was named Senior Vice President, Sales and Business Development for AcademicPub, a leading provider of custom books - print and digital - for the higher education community.
The announcement was made by Caroline Vanderlip, CEO, SharedBook Inc., to whom Murphy reports.

Murphy joins AcademicPub from Cambridge University Press, where she served for more than eight years as Director, Sales and Marketing, Americas, with responsibility for sales and marketing of Cambridge's academic and professional books in the U.S., Canada, the Caribbean, Central America, and Latin America.
From 1995 - 2004, Murphy held senior roles at Oxford University Press, USA, including Vice President and Director of Sales, where she was responsible for U.S. off-campus sales, and for international and special markets. Previously, Murphy was Vice President, International Marketing at Simon & Schuster International Group, where she managed distribution of Prentice Hall titles and marketing information worldwide, and organized global publishing forums.
Murphy began her publishing career as Director of Marketing Services for Maxwell Macmillan International, where she rose in two years to Assistant Vice President. A recipient of a B.A. in Advertising from San Jose State University, Murphy also completed a graduate course in International Business Development at Ashridge Business School in the United Kingdom. Murphy lives in Brooklyn, NY and often speaks at New York University publishing conferences.
